Two Torphins girls have raised over £1000 for charity after taking on a tough triathlon challenge in wintery conditions.
Katie Entwistle and Anna Ellson, both eight, arranged to tackle a triathlon last Saturday to raise money for Comic Relief.
The pair began at the Deeside Community Centre and first swam 400m in Aboyne Swimming Pool before cycling a 10 mile return trip to Dinnet along the Deeside Way.
The conditions were persistantly snowy and icy cold so the girls had a quick stop for a hot chocolate before completing the final leg - a three mile run around Aboyne before finishing back at the Community Centre.
Both girls were said to have smiled the whole way round and family and friends have said they are very proud of Katie and Anna for their “good spirits, stamina and the fact they raised so much for a good cause”.
