A former Banchory Academy pupil has moved up to become a partner at a Deeside veterinary practice.
Leanne Dawson started her career at Woodside Veterinary Group in Torphins while still at school, giving a hand to the busy vets for her work experience.
She continued to help out until it came time to leave school when she decided her calling was in veterinary medicine.
Leanne, who lives outside of Muir of Fowlis, went to Glasgow University to pursue her dream, becoming an expert in Bovine reproduction.
Following her degree she briefly worked at another practice before returning to her Torphins roots.
She has spent five years there, becoming a partner this year.
Leanne said: “I was at school in Banchory and it was great to come up and see how a mixed practice operates. I love being back here- its being home again.”
She said she had to deal with more business related issues now she had become a partner: “I (now) have a lot more to do with the running of the business side of things but mostly my day-to-day routine is the same.
“You never know when you’ll be busy, the variety is something I love about the job.”
Bill McCance, senior partner said: “She’s a very good vet and we’re very glad to have her here.”
