Members of Banchory Men’s Probus walking group have successfully completed their annual three-day trip.
This year, they were based in Grantown-on-Spey, with walks on Speyside and the Cairngorms. Day one was a circular walk in the Rothiemurchus area, starting at Inverdruie and circumnavigating Loch an Eilean and its two satellite neighbours.
On day two, the B team walked the banks of the fast flowing Findhorn and Dorback rivers, taking in the dramatic Randolph’s Leap gorge.
For the A team’s big day, the Cairn Gorm and northern corries walk was successfully completed, the early morning cloud cover having lifted by the time the group reached the plateau and the summits.
The third and more leisurely day was a six-mile circuit of the bank of the Spey and pine woods, starting at Boat of Garten station, before heading back over the hill to Banchory.
