A contraflow system will be in operation on the A944 Skene Road, between the Five Mile Garage and the Kingswells Park and Ride access road, for up to a fortnight from Saturday (May 12).
The travelling public is warned of the potential for delays and advised to use alternative routes where possible, or to allow extra time for their journeys.
The contraflow is being put in operation for safety reasons during tree felling work to make way for a new industrial unit at Kingswells. The eastbound carriageway will be closed and traffic diverted onto the westbound carriageway, where a contraflow system will be in place. The speed limit will be reduced to 30mph on this stretch of the road.
The contractor carrying out the works will be working from 7am until 10pm daily to ensure that the work is completed as quickly as possible. It is anticipated that the work will be completed within a week – the second week has been added as a contingency in case of any unforeseen difficulties.
Variable messaging signs will be used to advise motorists of the works and potential delays.
