Each retail and office unit in the Westhill Shopping Centre will receive a modern smoke or heat detection system.

This comes after it was discovered that the fire alarm system, which currently serves the shopping centre, does not comply with Fire Regulations.

The installation works started on Monday of this week and will last for approximately eight weeks.

The project to extend the shopping centre is also set to get under way commencing Monday, September 15, with an estimated completion date of April 2015.

Residents and tenants who have questions canattend a meeting on September 11 at Aberdeen Radiation Protection Ltd, Westhill Shopping Centre. The meeting will start at 4:30pm and will be held on the first floor (Suite three).
