Polish up your pup for the Scottish SPCA’s Canine Carnival which will take place in Bellfield Park, Banchory, this Sunday.

Bring along your pedigree chums from noon when entries for rings one and two open and enjoy stalls with goodies for owners and their pets.

Funds raised from the event will go to the Scottish SPCA.

There will be novelty and fun classes as well as competitions for the best behaved dog and fastest retriever.

An ideal event for all dog lovers, there’s something for everyone and every pooch from the cutest puppy to the best canine couple.

The vast and varied list of classes will also see dogs judged on their favourite trick in the party piece category, rewarded for the most appealing eyes and selected for which pup the judge would most like to take home.

There will be a special award for best in care classes with the winner chosen from first prize winners in classes 11-20, details of which will be available in the programme on the day.

The Canine Carnival is open to both pedigree and non-pedigree dogs which must be at least six months old and vaccinated. All dogs must have undocked or legally docked tails. For the purpose of the SPCA Canine Carnival, the term ‘dog’ refers to puppies over six months, dogs and bitches, except in novelty classes two and three.

Refreshments will be available at the carnival and visitors can also visit the Doonies Rural Education Group and other stalls selling goodies and offering information.

Entry to the show is free to spectators with entry to classes ranging from £1 to £2.

Proud dog owners can put their pooches through their paces in this packed day of events. For more information contact Rosemary Pirie on: 01330 811348
