Banchory Boys see off Ferryhill

Banchory U17s were back on league duty where they picked up three points against a stuffy Ferryhill side.

The home team were in action for the first time in three weeks and in the early stages showed they were rusty from the long lay off as Ferryhill were giving the back four a hard time.

However, it was Banchory who opened the scoring midway through the first half when Smith’s cross hit an unlucky defender who chinned the ball past his own keeper.

Ten minutes later Banchory were two up. A move involving several players saw Buchan cross the ball in from the right for another Ferryhill defender to direct the ball past his own keeper.

The second half started with Banchory in more control and chances were being created more regular with Mcpherson having a great effort saved by the keeper.

The pressure was relentless and Banchory increased their lead when a rasping shot by SMITH flew past the keeper from fully 30 yards.

The game finished 3-0 to the home side but know that performances will need to be improved with the Scottish Cup final coming up in just under two weeks time.

There are still seats available on the buses for the final. Anyone wishing to book a seat on the buses, leaving Banchory Academy at 8:30am on Sunday May 6 should call or text Neil on 07974765934. This is a first come, first serve basis as the buses are filling up well.
