Banchory cyclist win Etape Royale

Banchory's Neil Graham was winner of the men's 100-mile Quilter Cheviot Etape Royale cycle race held on Sunday, which drew a large crowd to Ballater in excellent weather.

Overall No 1in Etape Royale 100mile, and from Edinburgh RC Cycle. R - first Neil Graham 5hr,05m,41s 07837 839 279. Neil is from Banchory but works in Edinburgh.

Neil, now based in Edinburgh, covered the course in 5 hours, 5 minutes and 41 seconds. More than 1,000 riders took part in the event, which included shorter courses starting in Rhynie and Dufftown.

Neil said: “It was a great event, well organised and the support along the whole route from the volunteers and spectators was fantastic. Special thanks for the support from Tom Barrack and Paul Meaden, who are big cycling fans”.
