Last Saturday saw Banchory travel to the capital City Edinburgh to play their Scottish Cup fourth round tie against AC Oxgangs FC.
On this they came out 2-1 winners in a hard fought match which sees them progress into the last sixteen of the competition.
The game itself was played at the Boroughmuir Rugby FC Facility at Colinton on a 3G pitch which made for good fast football.
Banchory started well enough but the Oxgang team had an early opportunity to score but the striker missed the target.
Ten minutes into the game Banchory opened the scoring when a through ball down the left found HENDERSON clear, and he chipped the keeper from twenty five yards into the top corner.
Minutes later a ball through to Smith saw the midfielder give it to Buchan only for his shot to graze the post and go out.
At the other end Leslie in goal had to react sharply to a through ball and make two fine saves from long range shots.
Banchory upped the tempo in the second half and within two minutes they increased their lead.
A corner was only half cleared where Henderson jinked and danced past three defenders and then picked out BUCHAN inside the six yard box to stroke the ball home.
Banchory had the game by the scruff on the neck and had a number of chances to increase their lead.
However, a lapse in midfield at the halfway point of the half saw Oxgangs score.
A dipping effort from just outside the box saw Leslie manage to tip the ball onto the bar but it stayed in play for the little striker to pounce and pull a goal back.
This breathed life into the home side as they looked for the equaliser.
Banchory kept them at bay and created a couple more chances with the keeper pulling off a fine save from Findlay.
Banchory were unlucky not to increase their lead at the end of the match when McPherson beat the offside trap and managed to get a shot away only for the ball to be cleared off the line.
The final whistle went and the Banchory team deservedly progressed into the fifth round.
The draw has been made which sees them back on their travels again to Fairmuir BC in Dundee. This is to be played the weekend of the 3rd/4th of December.
This Saturday Banchory make the short journey to Stonehaven in the league. Kick off 1.30pm.
