Banchory St Ternan manager Sandy Carrol says he can take a lot of positives from last week’s defeat at defending Superleague champions Hermes.
Saints went down 2-0 at Lochside Park but created a number of chances and missed a penalty on the stroke of half time.
Carrol said: “Hermes provided stiff opposition but a bit more belief from my players and we certainly could have taken something from this game.
“It is a learning curve for the majority of this team as most of them that played against Hermes were playing youth football last season and by no account did they disgrace themselves.
“Although I am not happy with the result - I am never happy with a defeat - you have to put things into perspective.
“Hermes have a fairly settled team of experienced junior players who have tasted success, we at Banchory have built a very talented squad of young players that are finding their feet at this level.”
Carrol added: “We are away to Longside on Saturday on cup business and I am very confident of going up there and getting a result.”
