Culter will entertain Dundee North End in the third round of the GA Engineering Inter Regional Cup after knocking five past a young Maud team at Crombie Park.

The home side went ahead in the 3rd minute, Jamie McALLISTER collected a McBain pass before drilling the ball home from 16 yards giving Bruce no chance.

McAllister then got his head onto the end of another McBain cross only to see his effort hit the crossbar.

The in-form striker headed a Leith cross wide before sending another shot into the side netting.

Good work by Youngson and Leith set up Taylor 16 yards out but his shot whizzed past the post.

Culter doubled their lead in the 38th minute, Leith’s low cross being stroked home by Michael TAYLOR.

Duffy was at last called into action when he tipped Elrick’s dipping shot over the bar and from the resultant corner Alexander header over.

Taylor crossed for George McBAIN to slide home the third in the 42 minute and with half time approaching Youngson went on a mazy that finished with his shot just flashing wide of the post as Culter went into the break with a 3-0 lead.

A Duffy punt down the park found Jamie McALLISTER who held off his marker before sending an 18 yard drive past Bruce.

McBain thumped the ball into the side netting from a great position then Taylor headed over a Youngson cross from 8 yards.

Youngson’s long pass found Taylor who touched it into the path of Jamie McALLISTER to drive home for his hat trick in the 67th minute.

Youngson blocked Alexander’s run into the home penalty area and up stepped Michael RAE who hammered the ball into the net via the crossbar and keeper Duffy from 12 yards.

Minutes later Duffy was shown the red card for a high challenge on Duguid just outside the box.

Adam Wilson took over in goal and from the resultant free kick produced the save of the match turning away Elrick’s powerful drive.

The sides were even again when Duguid was shown a red for a second yellow in the 83rd minute.

McAllister blasted over before the last piece of action fell to McKimmie, making his first appearance for months, who headed a Sim cross off the post.

Culter: Duffy, Sim, Youngson, Reid, Brown, Shand, McBain, McArthur, McAllister, Taylor, Leith. Subs: Wilson, Kelly, McKimmie, Craik and Farquhar.
