Former Culter Football Club Club secretary-treasurer Albert Moir was presented with a set of engraved Dartington Glasses by Aberdeen Lord Provost George Adam at last weekend’s Culter Gala after 51 years of service with the club.

The gala took place in Culter School playing fields, not far from Albert’s birthplace. He was born in School Lane in a house called Locarno, which no longer exists, on December 4 1938.

Mr Moir, who first got involved with the club as a ballboy in the 1950s, said: “I was pleasantly surprised when the compere Callum Stuart gave a narrative of my years of service with Culter FC.”
