Donside and MBC United met in the U17s Cup final at Balgownnie last week.

Donside started the match in a brisk fashion and created a few chances including two drives from Wattie which the MBC keeper scrambled away for corners.

The Donside team were well on top and it was no surprise when WATTIE controlled the ball twenty yards out before delivering a rasping drive into the top left corner of the net.

Number two came ten minutes later when Jake ALLAN drove the ball into the net from twelve yards, with the keeper stranded after a scramble from a corner kick.

Donside were dominant now, creating wave after wave of attacks with little going the other way but the score remained at 2-0 as the half time whistle blew.

The second half started in much the same fashion but MBC came close a couple of times from Lechner and Molloy.

Birnie had replaced Hudson-Hosie for Donside at half-time and looked lively in midfield.

It was no surprise when Donside added a third, when Allan fed Murray who laid it onto Birnie who sped down the left wing before cutting the ball back to the penalty box where MURRAY despatched a left foot drive into the bottom right hand corner of the net, finishing off a great attacking move.

With the game over as a contest, Donside brought on their subs at regular intervals.

Macaulay was causing problems down the right hand side with Adamson and Allan coming close.

ALLAN got his second when he received the ball twenty yards out and fired it into the bottom corner of the net.

Barber hit the post with an attempted lob and Munro blasted the ball over when it was easier to score.

MBC were by now demoralised but almost scored when in a rare break away Lechner ran clear of the Donside defence before but Donside goalkeeper Callum Coutts pulled off a great save turning the ball round the post.

Donside completed the scoring when, man of the match Jake ALLAN completed his hat-trick when he despatched the ball into the corner of the net.

Overall a fantastic night and end to the season for the Dnside players and the many spectators who braved the weather to cheer on the lads.
