In their first year of competitive football in the ADJFA U13’s B-League Torphins Tornados  hit top spot and won the league by six points after winning 15 of the 18 games they played and only losing one game.

The boys finished the league scoring the most goals, conceding the least goals and playing some great football.

The boys now get promoted as champions into the A-league where they will be playing the best teams in Aberdeen and Shire, a challenge all the boys and coaches are looking forward to.

The coaches thanked all the players for their “dedication, determination, commitment and the professional way they approached training” and all the games they played, including the 5-4 win over the Dads the other week!

The Tornados’ next sporting achievement will be the 30 mile cycle along the Deeside Way from Aberdeen Duthie Park to the “Deeside Log Cabin Stadium” Kinker, their home ground, to raise money for “Clic Sargent” the Children’s Leukaemia Charity.

The boys and their families are hoping to raise over £3000 of which 50% will go to Clic Sargent and 50% to the Torphins Tornados Club.

The club is expanding and will have four teams playing in the ADJFA leagues next season, from P4 to S2, bringing more football to the boys and girls of Upper Deeside.

The money that the club raises from the cycle will go to this expansion of the club and a future football trip for the U13’s.

Anyone who would like to make a donation or sponsor one of the boys on their  30 mile cycle should contact Adrian George on or 07802 299447. If you would like to get involved in the club which will eventually become “Deeside Community FC” also contact Adrian George.
