Banchory Trampoline and DMT club have certainly got off to a great start this competition season.
Since February we have taken part in local, regional and National competitions with great success.
Nearly 30 club members take part in the local Northern Trampoline league, which hosts 3 local competitions, each one is a standalone event and the 3 cumulative scores are added together for the league final scores.
Regionally, Scottish Gymnastics have held 2 (of each discipline) trampoline and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) assessment days and as a result of those we have had 13 trampoline and 9 DMT gymnasts who have qualified so far for the Scottish trampoline and DMT championships to be held in September this year.
Also from these assessment days, we are delighted that 3 members of the club have qualified to represent Scotland at the Regional finals which is to be held in Peterborough on May 31st. These are Ava Fettes at NDP1 on DMT, Anna Wilson at NDP 2 on DMT and Gill Harrison at NDP 5 on DMT.
A team of 6 club members travelled to Coventry for a National competition on April 11th and every one of them medalled!
Morgan James won Bronze at NDP 7 13/14 girls, Charlotte Clarke won Silver at NDP 7 15/16 girls, Jovita Fawcett won Gold at NDP 7 17+ Women, Kim Beattie won Gold at her first ever NDP 8 17+ womens event all on DMT. Holding their own for the men, Graham Ross won Gold competing in the Elite DMT section and on Trampoline Craig Fyfe won a Bronze medal at NDP 7 17+ Mens trampoline. Altogether these are outstanding results.
On the coaching front we have put 8 members of the club through coaching courses recently at various levels. Jovita Fawcett, level 1. Jodie Ball and Alanna Beattie at level 2. Tony Gillespie, Iona Bruce, Claire Marno, Craig Fyfe and Pamela Clarke at the first 2 modules of levels 3.
The club would like to thank Aberdeenshire Sports council for their generous donation towards the level 3 modules.
