Banchory boy Dylan Curry was part of the winning team in the Junior U18 British
Table Tennis League.

The final round was held last weekend in Derby with the top players from across the country and several competitors from abroad taking part.

Fifteen-year-old Dylan, pictured right, was playing for Premier Division team E Batt Colebridge, along with players from France and England.

At the start of the weekend two teams were in joint first place, E Batt and Cliffedale.

E Batt won their first two games 6-0 and 5-1 then ended the hopes of one of the top four teams, BATTS, with a 6-0 win, putting them in a strong position.

E Batt went on to draw 3-3 with Cliffedale in the next round, which was enough take the title and victory with a match to go.

Dylan had one of the best averages in the division, winning 12 of his 16 games and beating a number of top English players.

Dylan trains locally in Aberdeen Sports Village and at RGU, and is a member of the Scottish national team.

He has been thankful this year to a grant from Hellen Reith Trust through Aberdeen Sports Council.
