Wrestling action returns to Westhill later this month with one grappler looking to continue a remarkable run of form.

Johnny Lions, a 10-year veteran of the squared circle, has accumulated a run of impressive victories that has turned around his detractors in the North-east’s wrestling community.

On Saturday, April 16, wrestling returns to the Ashdale Hall with Lions set to enter tag team competition again, intent on securing a spot for the upcoming WrestleZone supershow at the Beach Ballroom in June.

The 37-year-old teams with close friend Dickie Divers to take-on the Rejected, and Lions is looking forward to tangling with the former tag team champions.

He continued: “I’m loving my time in wrestling right now – it’s the best it has been for a long time.

“I have enjoyed this year so far as there have been many highlights, including finally scoring a win over my big rival Damien last month.

“Tag team wrestling is something entirely different and I know Chris Archer and Mikkey Vago are a formidable tandem.

“But me and Dickie Divers know what to expect at the Ashdale Hall, and I hope to end the night dealing out a couple of Lion Cutters on route to another win.”

The annual event in Westhill will see the stars of local promotion WrestleZone in family-friendly wrestling action, with the likes of Crusher Craib, Scotty Swift and Mr. P also set to appear.
