A popular exhibition currently displaying at the Milton Art Gallery is nearing the end of its time as it comes to a close on July 27.

Combining a retrospective show of the work of Francis Boag, one of Scotland’s best loved painter’s, with a major exhibition of original bronze sculptures has proved very popular.

Jane Smith, Assistant Manager at the Gallery said: “The exhibition has been a great success with many extremely positive comments on both the overall impact created but also about the background information we’ve provided to give our audience a deeper understanding behind both shows.”

The Bronze and Boag exhibitions, which opened last month, have been very popular with both Deesiders and visiting tourists during its time at Milton of Crathes.

‘Francis Boag - Then and Now tells the story of the three decades of hard graft that led Francis Boag to become an overnight success in the world of art with his colourful landscapes back in the 1990s. Boag has remained famous as a painter ever since.

There is also an annotated photographic exhibition currently at the Milton Art Gallery, entitled ‘From Clay to Cast’. The display tells the story of casting a sculpture into bronze and has even inspired some visitors to give bronze casting a try!

“Experience Bronze” and “Francis Boag - Then and Now “ are only on at the Milton Art Gallery, Banchory until July 27.
