With art classes, the Sculpture Walk Clear Up and Living Sculpture performance, there is a lot going on in Lumsden this summer.

The packed programme for Scottish Sculpture Workshop (SSW) in Lumsden was announced online this week.

Throughout the holidays, the SSW will be running ‘Where We Live’ summer art classes, starting today (Thursday).

The classes, aimed at 7-14 year olds, will take place on Thursday afternoons until August 7 from 2 to 4pm.

The workshops are focused around the Lumsden Sculpture Walk this Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20, looking at the local landscape which will see locals get together for the scultpure walk wwork party.

Join the SSW group to help make the Donside village of Lumsden a little cleaner in the run up to the performance on August 17 by Dudendance Theatre.

In exchange for lending a helping hand, tea and cake will be provided as sustenance, with a barbecue to thank the volunteers this Sunday, July 20.

Dudendance Theatre will be performing their work Borderlands in the Lumsden Sculpture Walk.

The performance will be the culmination of the Dudendance Summer School, responding to the specific site of the sculpture walk and local landscape.

The performance is free to attend, and there will be refreshments at SSW afterwards.
