Ballater Victoria Week’s brochure of fun-filled events hit the newsstands last week, promising another fantastic nine-day extravaganza.
This year, Ballater Victoria Week runs from Saturday August 9 to Sunday August 17. Details of all 54 events can be found inside the recently released programme.
The busy brochure is also packed full of info on how to enjoy the scarecrow trail and duck race, every entry to the tartan design competition, features and photos.
Ballater Victoria Week 2014 brings with it a range of new events.
This year’s additions include the pantomime horse trials, a Scrabble competition, a murder mystery evening, stay and play with Mini Movers, a kids’ quiz and target golf.
Other new arrivals are the Totally Folked music event, The Ballater Big Family Night Out and Ceilidh and, for Deesiders looking for love, a speed dating night!
Everyone’s BVW favourites will be back again, from the ghost tours, history events and discos to the 4x4 BBQ safari, Sunday parade and fayre and potted sports.
The Saturday night film on August 9 in aid of Crathie Opportunity Holidays is Saving Mr Banks (PG) and the Deeside Inn will host the Mad Ferrets Band as well as sponsoring the appearance of the New Distillery Ceilidh Band at the Big Night Out.
The week will finish with Victoria’s Got Talent in the Victoria Hall on Sunday August 17 at 7:30pm.
The box office will open at 10am on Friday August 8 during BVW and will be open every day. There will also be an advance box office session on Saturday August 2 for the sale of some tickets, including ducks (red and black) and other goodies.
The deadline for scarecrow design entries for inclusion on the Scarecrow Trail Map is fast approaching on Sunday July 27.
The BVW programme brochure, priced at just £2 (all sales benefit BVW causes) is available from numerous local outlets, including Yules newsagents, Davidson’s chemist, Bean for Coffee, Rowan Jewellery and Ballater Library.
