A ladies’ singing group is going to hold a free teaching event for budding singers in Peterculter, and will be taught a song written by Annie Lennox.
Albacappella, which is based in Peterculter, is inviting local ladies to its one day ‘Love to Sing’ course, which will take place on Sunday, March 20.
The group’s musical director, Mike Warner, will teach Sweet Dreams, by Aberdeen’s Annie Lennox when she sang with Eurythmics.
The sessions will take place at the band’s usual rehearsal space, St Peter’s Heritage Hall, from 10am - 4pm.
The chorus regularly perform their barbershop style of singing across the north-east.
Chairwoman Tina Newcombe hopes that the course will encourage woman of all ages, beginners and seasoned singers alike, to enjoy the “friendly style of singing”.
She said: “We are inviting women from teenagers to retirees to come along and learn how to sing Sweet Dreams in just a few hours.
“Our musical director is an award winning coach and competition judge, and his friendly style enables us to learn songs quickly and in perfect harmony.”
Albacappella recently took part in a national ladies’ barbershop competition in England.
Ms Newcombe added: “If you find yourself singing in the shower or in the car, but would love to refine your sound or sing with others, this is the course for you.”
