Fiddler player Paul Anderson will give a recital of music from his critically-acclaimed album of original music “The High Summit” at Crathes Castle tomorrow night (Friday).

He will be joined by Tarland guitarist and singer Alastair MacDougall and the 2009 Scots singer of the year, Shona Donaldson, who was also the first woman to win the coveted Bothy Ballad Champion of Champions in 2015.

Paul said: “Most of the music on The High Summit was inspired by the people, events and beautiful scenery of Deeside so it’ll be a bit of a musical journey along the River Dee. “As well as my own tunes, there’ll also be some well-known music from the North-east fiddle tradition.”

It’ll be a busy weekend for Paul as he’ll be in Paisley on Saturday for the 2017 BBC Alba Trad Music Awards where he’s a finalist in the Instrumentalist of the Year category.
