Deeside is gearing up to welcome the 12th soundfestival.
The celebrated music event will stage a wide-ranging programme in Banchory, Aboyne and Tarland from October 20-November 5.
Each autumn performances are staged throughout Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
In the opening weekend, Woodend Barn will unveil Grains of Sound, an exhibition by Maja Zeco from Bosnia Herzegovina, with a special associated performance on Saturday night.
On Saturday afternoon renowned cellist Robert Irvine will give a recital in the atmospheric setting of Migvie Church in Tarland.
The following weekend the Barn will welcome the acclaimed Ligeti String Quartet who will perform works by Kurtag, Bartok, Xenakis and Ligeti.
The October 29 concert is part of a weekend of events in which soundfestival is exploring writing for string quartet.
In the final weekend, the audience at the Barn will be treated to a combination of traditional fiddle and electronics.
