A treat for the ears is in store as one of the UK’s leading concert pianists is set to perform at Woodend Barn in Banchory on Saturday (October 5).

Sarah Beth Briggs is a leading recitalist, concert soloist and chamber musician and will be playing the Deeside venue at 7.30pm.

Her musical interpretations have been broadcast internationally while recital work has taken her across Europe and the USA.

Sarah will perform a wide-ranging programme of great classical, Romantic and impressionist music, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy. The concert has been organised by classical music promoters Woodend Music Society, who will this year be presenting concerts in an informal, café-style setting within the venue’s main performance space.

Described by a national broadsheet as ‘an artist of extraordinary magnetism’, Sarah’s career was launched at the age of eleven when she became the then youngest-ever finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition.

Four years later she gained international recognition as joint winner of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg.

Her classical concerto interpretations have led to appearances in many countries, including prestigious engagements with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and a series of concerts at SanFrancisco’s Midsummer Mozart Festival. UK orchestral collaborations include concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hallé and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra amongst others.
