A musical duo, with rave reviews from national newspapers, is set to showcase its new show in Donside.

Guitar virtuoso Simon Thacker’s new duo with young Polish cellist Justyna Jablonska presents the premiere of ‘Karmana’, a new large scale work composed by Simon, on October 26 at Tullynessle and Forbes Hall as part of the sound festival.

The pair will be making their concert debut as a duo.

Karmana combines elements from classical, jazz and musical styes from around the world.

Justyna Jablonska holds an MMus in solo performance from the RNCM, where she studied with the principal cellist of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Peter Dixon. In 2011 Justyna was awarded a prestigious scholarship from the Aldeberska Trust in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Simon Thacker is well known for his acclaimed solo and chamber music performances and as a leader of and composer for ensembles including: Indian/Western supergroup Svara-Kanti, with whom he recently released the CD Rakshasa, which featured many of his compositions and was hailed across the world.
